Build hydrogen-powered ships and develop Jinpu New Area

Under the background of energy saving and emission reduction in the shipping industry and the increasing demand for new energy ships, Dalian Maritime University and Wuxi Lihu Boosting Technology Co., Ltd. jointly established "Haida Qingneng Shipping (Dalian) Co., Ltd." , mainly engaged in the research and development and construction of new energy ships, and the promotion of new energy application in ships.

On April 26, 2022, a special meeting on the "Haida Qingneng" project was held in Jinpu New Area. Li Pengyu (member of the Standing Committee of the Dalian Municipal Party Committee), members of the district leadership team, leaders of the two committees, the Development and Reform Bureau, the Science and Technology Bureau, the Commerce Bureau, and Dalian Deta Holding Co., Ltd. , Sun Yuqing (president of Dalian Maritime University), and relevant leaders of the institute attended the meeting. Also participating in the meeting were project partners: Weishi Energy Technology Co., Ltd., Great Wall Motor Hydrogen Energy Testing Branch, Wuxi Lihu Boosting Technology Co., Ltd. and Haifei Zhiyuan Ship Technology Co., Ltd.

At the meeting, Dalian Maritime University and Weishi Energy made project introductions respectively. The leaders of the new area said that the carbon reduction task in the new area is arduous, but the development of new energy in the area has a solid foundation and broad space. The Haida Qingneng project is a model of cooperation between government and enterprise research institutes. It is hoped that the cooperation of all parties will provide assistance for the new area to build a dual-carbon development demonstration zone. The new area will provide platforms and policies to support research and development for technological breakthroughs and industrialization. Dalian Maritime University hopes to carry out broader cooperation with the new area in fields such as smart ships.
