China's first hydrogen fuel cell yacht was successfully launched

Dalian Maritime University announced on the 9th that China's first fuel cell yacht "Lihu", led by the new energy yacht power technology research institute of the institution, has recently made its way in its trial voyage, marking a key step in the real ship application of china's fuel cells in shipping power.

In recent years, the application of fuel cells in automobiles has developed rapidly, and the technology has been relatively mature. However, many safety and technical problems need to be solved in order to be applied to ships. Relying on years of research accumulation, the research team of Dalian Maritime University has successively solved technical difficulties such as ship hydrogen filling, hydrogen cylinder group weight-lightening, hydrogen-related safety design, marine fuel cell system design, and marine hybrid system design.

The fuel cell yacht designed on this basis is 13.9m long, and uses a 70KW fuel cell and an 86KWH lithium battery to form a hybrid power. The design speed is 18km/h, the endurance is 180km, and it can carry 10 passengers. The ship type and power are close to the foreign benchmark ones, and the most critical endurance indicator for electric ships has gained a slight advantage.

Dalian Maritime University said that after more than half a month of offshore commissioning, the ship's various indicators met the design requirements and successfully made its trial trip.
